- How do I send a document for signature?
- Create a free account and upload the document: a PDF, or a Word (.doc or .docx), RTF or ODT file, which is converted to PDF for you (up to 25 MB). Drag signature, initials, date, name, email, text and checkbox fields onto the pages, add each recipient's name and email address, and click send. Each recipient gets an email with a secure signing link.
- Do my recipients need an account or an app?
- No. They open the link from the email on any phone, tablet or computer, review the document, agree to sign electronically, and draw or type their signature. Nothing to install and no account to create.
- What does the free plan include?
- 3 documents a month, 1 user, unlimited recipients per document, 1 reusable template, the audit trail and certificate of completion, and downloads of your completed PDFs. No credit card. Signer reminders, team members, signing order and branding are on paid plans.
- How do I know when someone has signed?
- Each document shows when every recipient opened it and when they signed. You also get an email when a recipient signs and another when the whole document is complete.
- What do I get when everyone has signed?
- A completed PDF with a certificate of completion attached. The certificate lists each signer with their name, email, IP address, device and the time they signed, and when they agreed to sign electronically. You can download it any time, and each signer is emailed a link to their own copy that works for 30 days.
- Are electronic signatures legally binding?
- In the United States, the ESIGN Act and UETA generally give electronic signatures the same legal effect as handwritten ones, and many other countries have similar laws. Some documents, such as wills and certain court or notarized papers, have special requirements. This is general information, not legal advice.
- Is this the same as the free signature generator?
- No. The free signature generator makes an image of your own signature to download or place on a PDF yourself. Tarchos Sign sends a document to other people to sign and keeps the signing record for you.
